Since March 1, 2020, companies with more than 50 employees have been required to publish an index based on five criteria, which measures the efforts of French companies in terms of equal pay between women and men. The index score is calculated for the 2024 calendar year. This obligation is part of the Avenir Law of September 5, 2018, which ultimately aims to eliminate the gender pay gap.
