The packaging Industry – Our solutions

Manufacturers across all industries such as food & beverage, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, chemicals, etc. want to optimise their packaging processes by improving efficiency and reducing costs. These goals can be achieved using innovative, fast and reliable packaging systems.

The packaging industry is known for its advanced technology because of its packaging lines’ state-of-the-art automation. Each component has to meet very strict requirements that are specific to each industry. You can rely on celduc’s solutions because our Solid State Relays and contactors always meet these requirements.

celduc® relais offers a complete range of solutions for packing and packaging machines: Solid State Relays for temperature control, AC/DC motor reversers and soft-starters, magnetic proximity sensors for position, presence, level and speed detection.

Below are the main processes for packaging lines and the applications our Solid State Relays and Magnetic Proximity Sensors are used for:

Filling Machines

Our Solid State Relays are used for:

  • Conveyor motor control
  • Power vibrator motor control
  • Switching electrovalves used in the liquid filling process
  • Heating element control for hot air units during an aseptic filling process.

Closing/Sealing Machines

Manual welding machines

There are a wide range of manual welding machines: from simple welding arms, equipped or not with a manual cutting knife and an electromagnet, via thermic welding jaws, to horizontal or vertical continuous welding machines.

L-Sealing Machines

L-Sealing machines usually include a sealing table to support a plastic film around a product.

Side Sealing Units

Side sealing units seal the films on the sides of a product.
They have two sealing bars and seal the products perpendicular to the sleeve wrapping seals.

We recommend them for two configurations:
-For completing a 4-seal packaging without heat shrinking.
-Prior to the shrink tunnel, to create heat-sealed packaging that requires an immaculate finish (for marketing or shop display purposes).

With heat bars, they are suitable for various throughput rates:
— under constant heat for rapid throughputs,
— under impulsion for slow throughputs.
The bar heater is thermostatically controlled and linked to a cutting device. This prevents any products from being lost and saves time.

celduc® relais OFFERS RELIABLE SOLUTIONS FOR TEMPERATURE CONTROL

Our Solid State Relays are used for:
• Closing heating element control
(under constant heat for rapid throughputs, or under impulsion for slow throughputs)
• Temperature control when the upper and lower films are sealed together
• Electromagnet control: electromagnets are used to lock sealing machines
(this keeps the arm locked during the sealing and cooling processes)

Thermoforming machines

This equipment is the ideal choice to fully automate the packaging of the same type of products. Vacuum, modified atmosphere, skin and blister packs can be produced on these machines.

Our Solid State Relays are used for:

  • Pre-heating time process control
  • Mould heating system control

Shrink tunnels

This high temperature process employs radiant heat or steam. Heating elements, burners or hot air nozzles are used as heat sources. Electronic regulation may also be used.

  • Infrared heating lamp control
  • Heating element control

Wrapping and bundling machines

Sleeve wrapping machines envelope the products under plastic film (heat shrinkable, or not). Sleeve wrapping machines are usually the first component in the plastic packaging line.

Our Solid State Relays are used for:

  • Conveyor motor control
  • Up/down film roller motor control
  • Cutting station motor control
  • Sealing heating element control

PET Blow Moulding Machines

The thermoplastic material used for water bottles is PET. Firstly, with a traditional injection moulding machine, a “preform” is injected inside a cold mould. Then the “preform” is removed from the mould, warmed up again with an infrared lamp, then put inside a mould with a bottle cavity, blown with hot air, then stretched to create a water bottle.

Our Solid State Relays are used during the following stages of the process:

1- Preform injection

3- Re-heat station by infrared heating lamps

5- Stretch blow moulding with hot air
